Meet The Team
Lani Beattie, OTR/L CHT CLT
Lani, therapist & owner of SJHT, earned her Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from Tufts University in 1988. She worked in a variety of clinical settings before joining the San Juan Hand Therapy team in 2002. She became a Certified Hand Therapist in 2006. A special interest of Lani's is treating lymphedema patients and women with breast cancer after surgery. She completed certification as a lymphedema therapist in 2008.
Lani and her husband Todd are raising two boys in Durango, taking advantage of outdoor mountain activities whenever possible.
Mary Oswald, MS OTR/L CHT

Founder and former owner of
San Juan Hand Therapy, Mary obtained her masters degree in Occupational Therapy from Colorado State University in 1988. Her interest in hand therapy began initially while specializing in spinal cord injury at Craig Hospital in Denver, Colorado. As a result of her collaboration with Craig's hand surgeon, Mary began working for the largest hand therapy center in the Rocky Mountain region. Prior to becoming an occupational therapist, Mary and her husband were forestry volunteers in Ecuador in the Peace Corps. Like everyone else in Durango, she enjoys skiing, backpacking, and biking. Mary and her husband have two grown daughters.
Keelin Nickerson, MSOT OTR/L
Keelin is a local to the area growing up in Dolores. She received her bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Colorado Mesa University in 2014. After her undergraduate degree, she traveled the US and abroad for several years before pursuing further education. She received her masters of occupational therapy from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in 2022. After two internships at SJHT, she joined the team in October 2022. She enjoys spending time with her dog, family, and friends. When not at work you can find her playing in the desert or the San Juan mountains.

Diana Davis,
MOT OTR/L CHT
Diana had the opportunity to complete a 3 month internship at SJHT while pursuing her Master's of Occupational Therapy degree at Colorado State University, After graduating in 2017, Diana was excited to join the SJHT team! Diana became a certified hand therapist in 2021. Diana is passionate about her work to support people to live their fullest, healthiest lives. She enjoys running, reading, writing, and multi-sport adventuring in the southwest with her husband.
Brenda Allen
Office Manager
Brenda earned her Associates Degree in Business Administration from Fort Lewis College in 1983. Introduced to SJHT in 2002 as a patient in a wheelchair recovering from a serious motor vehicle accident, Brenda has been a vital member of our team helping patients navigate through the complex world of health insurance since 2003. Brenda is married and has two sons. She enjoys reading, singing and hiking.
